FAQ

Campsite

Where do I pitch my tent?
On arrival, you will be shown where the camping area is. If you need a hand putting your tent up, there will be plenty of people around to help.

What about loos and showers?
We’ll have showering and toilet facilities available on site, including some accessible ones.

Should I bring a fold-up camping chair or blanket?
Seating in the main barn is provided, but we suggest you bring something for the seminars, meals, etc. As long as it's dry, most people will be sitting on the grass!

Are gazebos allowed?
Us Shift-ers love gathering people! That is why we provide opportunities which encourage us to mingle and make new friends, to welcome and practice hospitality. If you’re keen to bring extra gazebos and let others use them please do.

TRAVEL PLANS

How do I get there?
You can either drive - Google Maps address (The Leigh, GL19 4AF) - OR nearest train station - Gloucester station.

Is there Parking?
Yes. You will be instructed on arrival where to park.

Can I get picked up from the train station?
Yes. Between 16:00 – 19:00, we’ll have cars picking up delegates from Gloucester Station every hour, just look out for the Shift t-shirts. We’ll be in touch nearer the time to coordinate station lifts.

Schedule

Where can I find the schedule?
Stay tuned…

Do I need to register on arrival?
Indeed you will - as you drive onto the farm you'll be met by the registration team and further directions to the car park and main campsite.

What time can I arrive from?
The campsite opens from 16:00 for registration, with dinner being served from 18:00.

What time does the first main session start on the Friday? 20:00

What about people arriving late?
Ideally we’d love for you to get to camp in time for dinner, but if you will be arriving later on Friday and would like a plate put aside for you, please email info@shift-uk.com

OTHER BITS!

What else to bring?

A DRINKING MUG and WATER BOTTLE ARE ESSENTIAL (let's help steward the Earth well!) as there won't be cups provided on site. Bibles, Notepads, Tent, Sleeping Bag, Torches, Warm clothing and blankets (the barn can get quite chilly in the evenings!) Toiletries, Medication (if required),  Monies - if you’d like to purchase any items from our pop-up shop...and most importantly, COME EXPECTANT!

Can I volunteer?
Yes! The Shift Weekend is only made possible through the amazing efforts of our dedicated volunteer team. We only ask that you ask the Lord if this is a moment to muck in or to down tools. If the former then select that option on your registration form.

Food and Drink

How does the food and drink work?
All food and refreshments are included in the price of your ticket, and specific dietary requirements are catered for. (Mention on your registration)

Are drinks and snacks available outside of meal times? Or should I bring them?
Refreshments will be available throughout the day from our food area by the farmhouse, but if there is something specific you would like to bring then please do!

Can you bring your own camping stove or BBQ?
As all food is provided and particularly being aware of the working farm we are staying on, please refrain from bringing your own cooking equipment.

Can I bring alcohol?
We’ll be having an alcohol-free weekend and would appreciate it if you would respect this decision by not bringing alcohol onto the campsite.

Is there anywhere to charge my phone?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide plug sockets or the necessary electricity supply to charge hundreds of phones. Consider the weekend a chance to step away from your mobile device! (For those who may need their phones for important communication, we suggest bringing a charged battery pack).
